Ashraf Abu Laban is a Jordanian citizen born in Qatar in 1966, graduated in 1990 from Yarmouk University with a major of Administrative Sciences and Economic and a minor of English Literature.

He is a Human Resources Specialist and Project Manager with 28 years of experience and owns, with a partner, Al Thuneayah for Development and Consulting, ATDC, established in Amman in 2019 as a non-profit company.

​

His responsibilities are operational and managerial tasks, writing proposals, hiring and contracting with experts, trainers and admins managing projects’ activities, including quality control. Abu Laban is under oath member of the Jordanian Translators’ Association. He is a professional English-Arabic-English translator. In this area, he translated many high-education dissertations of Master and Ph.D. degrees and research papers in socioeconomic fields as well.  He also conducted several feasibility studies for SMEs in both English and Arabic.

In addition, Ashraf Abu Laban has been and still contributing to developing business proposals submitted to funding parties, maintaining professional relationships with all concerned entities and international organizations and developing new business strategies, innovative ideas and projects suggestions.

In Feb. 1990, Abu Laban started his profession career as an Accountant in Qatar. He was appointed afterwards at the Royal Scientific Society (RSS)-Amman, Jordan as a Personnel Officer, as the head of the HR division (2003), as Administrative and Financial Manager at the Enhanced Productivity Program (2009) and as a HRD (2015).

 

His philosophy in life is that human is the basic productive factor and the real capital of investment who leads to success and to the welfare of the humanitarian communities. Dealing with others of different cultures, educations, languages is an art that needs high understanding and resilience. Planning behinds success, knowledge drives effectiveness and efficiency. Cultural diversity and coexistence is the way to the commitment to tolerance, mutual respect and peaceful conflicts settlement.

Abu Laban enjoys high communication skills and problem-solving capabilities. His core values are knowledge, accountability, balance, challenge, enthusiasm, diversity, flexibility, hard work, honesty, humour, impact and innovation.  

 

Abu Laban developed and conducted training programs, as freelancer, on Best practices of Human Resources Management, Human Resources Strategic Planning and Human Capital Investment Theory. He also developed a social English training program entitled “All you need to know in English in order to write read and talk in English.” The training course was designed to the interested persons, employees who have a genuine love of the English language and a deep and real desire to improve their language fluency that supports their efforts to develop their skills and abilities for better careers.
